Clem earned a BS degree in English Education from Savannah State University, Savannah GA; a Master of Administration and a Washington State Principal Certificate through Western Washington University, Bellingham. Previously Clem served for 21 years as an educator in the public schools of Anne Arundel County Maryland, and Renton and Bellevue WA. Most of her career in public school education was spent working in Middle Schools with 6th - 8th graders.
Clem and her husband James are the parents of two adult daughters - Dehlia and Rosalyn, and have five grandchildren-Marionna, Demetri, Nadira, Tahir and Ahmir.

Mindi is the pastor of Queen Anne Baptist Church in Seattle. She was born in Oregon, grew up in Alaska and was baptized at Church of the Covenant in Palmer, Alaska. She received a B.A. in Creative Writing from Linfield College and an M.Div from Andover Newton Theological School. She is married to Rev. J.C. Mitchell and they have one child, A.J. Mindi is passionate about using digital communication for ministry and will #hashtaganything when given the opportunity.
